Baden

[edit]

I changed the biography entry from Baden, Germany to Baden bei Wien, Austria, based on circumstantial evidence. Baden in Germany is a state, not a city (the city is called Baden-Baden). And since he started working for the Viennese insurance company it is more plausible that he moved to the Viennese suburbs than ~400 miles away. Can anyone verify? ~ trialsanderrors 03:06, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Terrible mistake, Mercedes also took somehow a Mexican citizenship and was consul of Mexico in Nice, at the same time he was consul of Austria Hungary. Why? Who knows, but the documents and the whole archive is in Mexico City, where many documents have Mercedes' signature and the seal of Mexico. Please correct and verify documents at the Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores historic library, Mexico City. You can obtain special permission to review the dossiers. I did. I have some photos. Most documents are commercial, customs related and are written in French. @spanishNY — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.224.88.212 (talk) 23:46, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Chauteau Robert

[edit]

Should that be Château Robert? 2607:FEA8:3D20:108:39B1:4B47:E429:EB2B (talk) 16:34, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Austro-Hungarian Consulate General
He would have been Consul General operating out of a consulate.

Jellinek Estate ?

[edit]

What happened to the Jellinek Estate (=> properties in France) after 1918 ? He was married to a French woman, and had three children. --Marc-AntoineV (talk) 06:17, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Consul of Mexico. He was also granted Mexican citizenship by Porfirio Diaz.

[edit]

Consul of Mexico in Nice in early 1900s. Yes, also consul of Austria Hungary. 2603:7000:E900:6E4:A11E:E450:C001:D657 (talk) 04:28, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
